The Feststellungsprüfung (FSP) is an assessment test required for international students who wish to study at a German university but whose secondary school leaving certificate is not directly recognized as equivalent to the German Abitur. It is not an Indian college, nor does it have a founding year, academic history, or offer programs in the traditional sense. Instead, it is typically taken after completing a one-year preparatory course (Studienkolleg) in Germany. The FSP evaluates a student's academic proficiency in subjects relevant to their chosen field of study (e.g., M-Kurs for medicine, T-Kurs for technical subjects, W-Kurs for economics, G-Kurs for humanities, S-Kurs for languages). Eligibility for a Studienkolleg and subsequently the FSP usually requires a strong academic record in 12th grade, often with specific subject combinations, and proficiency in German (B1/B2 level). Passing the FSP grants the qualification to apply for degree programs at German universities. There are no specific 'eligibility ranks' or 'accreditation' for the FSP itself, as it is an examination.
