Established in 1933 as the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT) of the University of Mumbai, the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) gained the status of a deemed university in 2008. Admission is primarily based on MHT CET for Maharashtra State candidates and JEE Main for All India candidates. Its best branches include Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering & Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences & Technology, Polymer Engineering & Technology, Oils, Oleochemicals & Surfactants Technology, Dyestuff Technology, and Surface Coating Technology. The institute is accredited with an 'A++' grade by NAAC and consistently ranks among the top engineering institutes in India, particularly excelling in chemical engineering and technology categories in the NIRF rankings.
