The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) across India. For UG programs, candidates must have passed or be appearing for their 12th-grade examination with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST categories), with no upper age limit. The CLAT UG exam is a 2-hour test comprising 120 multiple-choice questions, each carrying 1 mark, with a negative marking of 0.25 for incorrect answers. It assesses candidates on English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.
