The Common University Entrance Test (Undergraduate), or CUET (UG), is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various undergraduate programs offered by Central, State, Deemed, and Private Universities across India. Eligibility requires candidates to have passed or be appearing for their 12th-grade examination from a recognized board, with no upper age limit. The exam is a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). It is divided into three main sections: Section IA & IB for Languages, Section II for Domain-Specific Subjects (candidates can choose up to 6), and Section III for a General Test. Each correct answer fetches +5 marks, while an incorrect one results in a -1 deduction. Key subjects tested include various languages, domain subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, History, Political Science, Economics, and a General Test covering GK, Current Affairs, Mental Ability, and Reasoning. Over 250 universities accept CUET (UG) scores for admissions.
