The National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (NDA & NA Exam) is a prestigious national-level entrance examination conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). It serves as a gateway for aspiring candidates to join the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA, and the Indian Naval Academy (INAC) course. Eligibility requires candidates to be between 16.5 and 19.5 years of age at the time of joining and have passed or be appearing for their 12th standard examination. For Air Force and Naval Academy, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are mandatory subjects in 10+2. The exam comprises a written test followed by a rigorous Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. The written exam has two papers: Mathematics (300 marks) and a General Ability Test (GAT) (600 marks), each of 2.5 hours duration. GAT covers English, Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, Geography, and Current Events. Approximately 400 seats are filled per batch.
